Jamie is
the lead singer/rythym guitar player for Mind
Carnival.
His main musical influence is the Grateful Dead. Other influences
range from the Indigo Girls and U2 to 311 and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
His instrument of choice is his seven-year-old Yamaha
acoustic named "Amy". A theatre major at SMSU
in Springfield, Missouri, Jamie's passions are acting, singing, songwriting,
and bustin' a move with the self-created "chicken dance" on stage.
He seeks fame but fears the same fate as other famous "J" names, i.e.,
Jerry Garcia, Jim Morrison, Jimmi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, John Lennon, Jon
Candy, John Denver, . . . . shall I continue?
Before
Mind Carnival,
Jamie was a member of Barefoot Lawn, Junebugs in July, Silent Thunder,
and the short-lived Dream Quest -- sharing vocal duties with Matt Giles.
Originally folk singers, they've been writing music together since they
were 14 and now enjoy singing rock, blues, funk, and even a little bit
of rap as Mind Carnival vocalists.
