Sailing Classes

Due to popular demand, there will be classes held in the Fall again this year in addition to our standard Spring classes. The 2001 Spring Basic Sailing classes have been scheduled for April 27, 29 and May 5; and the Fall classes are scheduled for September 14, 16 and 22. Included for the entry fee of $50.00 per student are one evening of basic sailing instructions in the classroom on Friday evening, and two days of "hands-on" experience at Lake Lavon. The boats will all be Ventures and MacGregors provided by members of V/MYC for the two days of sailing. Each boat will be limited to two students and the instructor. The two students will each take turns gaining experience and practice with all aspects of the helm and the sails. Students may change boats during the lunch break each day to gain experience with different boats, rigs, and instructors. Spouses taking the course together are usually scheduled on separate boats so each gain the full experience of the instruction.
