Cruising (Updated 1/14/01)

The V/MYC organizes cruises throughout the year for members and guests. There are three major family cruises scheduled each year in addition to a winter Bachelor Cruise, a Women’s Cruise and miscellaneous Local Lake Adventures. The link above provides more information and pictures from past cruises.

Two major 8-race series are held each year, Spring and Fall Series, along with a Summer Night race series, and a class and race for New Skippers. The Spring and Fall Series include fleet races for the Gold and Silver Fleets as well as total point competition for the Commodore's Trophy.

In addition, the V/MYC co-hosts the annual Lavon Challenge with the Lavon Yacht Club to determine the annual holder of the Lavon Cup. For more information on our racing activities, view the above link.

Sailing Classes (Updated 1/16/01)

Each year, the V/MYC and The Rigg Shop co-host a series of Basic Sailing classes to expand our sport by introducing new sailors to the fun and excitement of sailing and to raise funds for the club. The class includes classroom training along with two days of On The Water hands-on training. More details may be obtained in the above link.

The programs for each of this year's meetings are still being firmed up.
