Hutchinson soda bottles were used from 1894-1904 roughly and were a design made so that it had a copper stopper that could be pushed in and pulled out to preseve it contents. The name "Soda Pop" came from this kind of soda bottle because when you pushed it in. It made a popping noise. It was invented by one of the larger bottling companies, by the name of Hutchinson.
