Since the purchase of this motorcycle in 1997, I seem to have been afflicted with some sort of mania. Originally planning to use it on weekend jaunts into the countryside, I soon found myself riding every day. It wasn't long before I gave up on the car and chose to ride the bike despite the weather or season. As long as there was no ice on the road, I would ride to work even in the cold Connecticut winter.

| I began to look for something more than commuting and riding on my own through the winding roads of southeastern Connecticut. I discovered the Concours Owners Group. A great bunch of people from all walks of life who share one common interest, motorcycling, with emphasis on the Concours. Their group mail list is a vast source of maintenance tips, ride reports, product evaluations, humor and camaraderie.

It wasn't long after becoming a member when I was introduced to the truly addictive side of motorcycling, long distance or endurance riding. The Iron Butt Association is the premier organization of the long distance rider. I read everything they had then planned my first Saddlesore 1000.

| One of the things I heard about from the owners group was an event called the "I've been Everywhere Tour". Put on by an organization called Team Strange Airheads and open to all makes of motorcycles. This one I figured would get Cathy and I out together a little more. Here you'll find our progress in locating and documenting our visits to locations listed in the song.
