In October of 2000, at age 60, Ron retired.  At that time I was working as a technical writer contractor from home. The idea was that we could be mobile with my job since I could work from any place that had a phone hookup.  So, after two years of planning (in May 2001) we sold our home and moved into our King of the Road 32 ft. fifth wheel RV (with two slide outs).  It is now our home and, after a year, we do not regret the move.

So far, it has worked and we are extremely happy to have the opportunity to travel full-time while we're relatively young and in good health.  Being together so much hasn't proven too much of a problem.  In fact, we seem to like each other more than ever.  I think the shared experiences and being away from family and close friends has made us rely on each other more and perhaps be a bit more considerate.  In addition, we can't afford to stay angry in close quarters.  So, there's added incentive to make up quicker, if ever we need it.
