         February 2, 1819: Oliver J. Morgan, parish Judge, having received
         information of the decease of MAJOR Thomas Ballew who departed
         this life at his residence on the River Ouachita 24 Dec last past
         (1818). having in consequence therreof repaired to the plantation
         of the late residence of the said decedant and received the
         declaration of Sarah widow and relict of said Thomas Ballew dec'd
         who declares her said husband died intestate leaving property real
         and personal to be inherited by the children born during the
         marriage of the said Thomas and Sarah his wife leaving in all nine
         children: Agness Ballew widow Haden 33 years, William Ballew 31

         Public sale
         By the undersigned Judge of the Parish of St. Martin
         The public is notified that on Tuesday the 29th of April next will
         be sold at public auction to the highest and last bidder, the
         Family of Slaves hereinafter mentioned belonging to the estate of
         the late Mr. Bennet Ballew. A negress named Jinner aged almost 28
         (or 38) years with her three children named Peter (age 11),
         Abraham (5 years) Sally an infant at the breast.
