Episode 2

EXT. WESTERN DUDE RANCH AFTERNOON

Suffering from a brief bout of writer’s block or maybe she’s just fed up with wrangling plot points and character development for her Best in the West Screenwriting Competition entry Lucy ventures over to the corral where the Cowboy is sweet-talking his horse.

LUCY
She’s pretty. You seem awfully fond of her.

COWBOY
Yeah … she’s a great horse. Had her since she
was a baby.

LUCY
Horses don’t get fevers, do they?

COWBOY
Sure … but she just likes a little affection
once in awhile.

LUCY
(muttering to herself)
She’s not the only one.

COWBOY
What?

LUCY
Oh nothing … it just seems you break hearts as well as horses.

COWBOY
Why do you say that?

LUCY
Well hell, man … you’ve only got eyes for that horse! I mean,
what’s a woman gotta do … show you her measurements
tattooed on her navel?

COWBOY
You’ve got a tattoo there?

LUCY
No, but I got your attention, didn’t I?

COWBOY
Oh, you’ve had my attention … you’ve just been too
wrapped up with your movie script to notice.

Hmmmm … have Lucy and the Cowboy finally connected? Will the Cowboy put his pretty little mare out to pasture so he can show Lucy how he lassos fiery, independent CPAs from West Palm Beach? And what’s Lucy going to do when her boss calls from the office to tell her something fishy is going on with the big McGoogle account and he wants to know why she appears to be the one tangled up in the fishing line? Stay tuned for the next episode of “Lucy and the Cowboy” … and keep those scripts coming.
