Watch this site for more Hamsters info. Wasatch Mountain Hamsters is dedicated to the furthering of the Campbell’s Dwarf Hamster Breed.

Here are some pictures of pure colors I have in my hamstery. In this case “pure” doesn’t mean something that you can necessarily see. A pure color is one that is alone in the genotype.  Meaning that a pure color hamster carries no unseen colors.

Pure Opal

I’ve got 4 pure colors in my hamstery right now, Argente, Opal, Blue Fawn, and Normal

Pure Argente

I have other genes, the coat type Satin and the coat pattern Mottled as well as the masking gene Albino. Because of the nature of Albino it is difficult to make pure.. I’m still trying.  I have isolated the Satin in some of my normal lines but because of the nature of Satin it doesn’t look very good unless it is crossed out to a non-Satin from time to time.  I also have satin in some of my Blue Fawn and Opal

Pure Blue Fawn

Pure Normal

We are located in the shadow of Timpanogas in the Wasatch range.
